Mechanical face seals with CVD diamond coatings are routinely produced. Leading to new levels of performance in heavy duty applications.

 

When applying a diamond coating (100 % pure diamond) the friction is reduced(upp to 75 % depending on application) and reduces the heating and cooling needs. At the same time the wear resistance are greatly improved.

 

For the user there will be a general improved resistance to catastrofic failure when running with reduce lubricationg/cooling. At the same time there will be a higly extended service life, savings due to reduced energy loss and less maintanace. When used with abrasive media the lifetime is hugely increased for the seals.
