We know silicon carbide, silicon nitride, silicon wafers and other materials that form carbides. We cannot diamond coat any material that contains iron or nickel. The process takes place at 900 C and in an atmosphere of hydrogen and methane.
Yes, however, special arrangements/fixtures may be required if there are greater variations in depth.
